Overview
EV Blocks were used as part of a workplace EV charging installation at JD Sports’ Rochdale distribution centre, delivered by Mer.
The project included a mix of AC and DC chargers to support employees and site visitors, while preparing the site for future EV adoption.
Highlights
The Rochdale distribution centre operates at full capacity during peak retail periods, including Black Friday, Christmas and New Year, making it difficult to carry out large-scale installation work without disrupting operations.
To address this, EV Blocks foundations were installed during the early groundwork phase, allowing the main charger installation and final connections to take place later with minimal time required on site. This phased approach reduced disruption and ensured the project could be delivered around the site’s operational schedule.
